Fire Destroys Home In Lokoja, Resident Appeals For Help

A midnight fire has destroyed the home of Mr. Ali Danladi Salihu on Madabo Street, Lokoja, leaving him and his family members homeless and in urgent need of assistance.

The incident, which occurred last week Thursday, reduced the building to ashes before local firefighters could bring the flames under control.

Although Mr. Salihu and his family members managed to escape without injury, lossing all his belongings, including important documents, clothing, and household items.

“We  grateful to God for sparing our lives, but everything I owned is gone,” Mr. Salihu said while recounting his ordeal.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, neighbors and community members have begun mobilizing to support the victim, providing temporary shelter and calling on the wider public to assist with donations.

Local leaders in Lokoja have also urged well-meaning individuals and organizations to come to Mr. Salihu’s aid as he begins the difficult process of rebuilding his life.

In an interview with Malam Umar Usman who is currently housing the victims, he called on government agencies, humanitarian groups, and kindhearted individuals to come forward and support the fire victims as they struggle to rebuild their lives from the ruins.
