The Fancy Media Team (FMT), a network of media volunteers promoting the policies and programmes of the Kogi State Government, has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for re-election beyond 2027.
The endorsement was made at the conclusion of a two-day Media Engagement and Capacity Building Workshop organized by the group in Lokoja. The event attracted participants from across the state, including public affairs analysts, representatives of government, civil society organizations, and the Kogi State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
In a unanimous resolution, the group passed a vote of confidence in President Tinubu, commending his âpeople-centered leadership, bold economic reforms, and infrastructure driveâ across the country.
FMT also lauded Governor Ododoâs administration for its strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare delivery, agriculture, and youth empowerment, while highlighting his proactive approach to security and peacebuilding, which it said has stabilized communities across Kogi State.
Leader of the Fancy Media Team, Sanni Abubakar Suleiman, described the workshop as âa defining momentâ for the group and an opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to the vision of the Ododo administration.
âThe Fancy Media Team was born out of conviction, not convenience,â Suleiman said. âWe believed in Governor Ododoâs leadership long before many others did. Our mission has always been to promote his vision of hope, unity, and progress for Kogi State.â
Suleiman commended the groupâs financier, Hon. Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege (popularly known as Fancy), for his unwavering support and mentorship.
âHe believed in us when others overlooked us, financed us when others doubted our relevance, and inspired us when we felt weary,â he said, describing Adabenege as âa humanitarian and visionary leader.â
He also appealed to Governor Ododo to continue supporting the teamâs initiatives, particularly in promoting government activities and training young people in digital communication.
In his goodwill message, Hon. Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege praised the team for its professionalism and consistency, noting that FMT has become âa household name in Kogi and beyondâ through its innovative approach to media engagement.
He reaffirmed his commitment to youth development, commending Governor Ododoâs inclusive governance style and emphasizing that âyouth empowerment remains at the heart of the administrationâs agenda.â
Adabenege noted that the team, which began as a volunteer network, has now evolved into a registered organization with national visibility, expressing confidence that the workshop would further enhance membersâ skills in communicating the administrationâs achievements.
The two-day event featured keynote addresses by public affairs analyst Mr. Majeed Dahiru and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Hon. Ismaila Isah, as well as interactive sessions.
Highlights of the workshop included the unveiling of FMTâs maiden magazine and the presentation of certificates to participants.
