The Ejeh of Ankpa, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr Abubakar Sadiq Yakubu, has conferred the traditional title of Jakadan Ankpa on Sulaiman Baba Ali in recognition of his outstanding contributions to community development and his commitment to the progress of Ankpa and its people.
The conferment, according to a statement from the palace, reflects the monarch’s resolve to honour distinguished individuals whose service, leadership, and philanthropy have positively impacted society.
The title of Jakadan Ankpa—literally meaning “Ambassador of Ankpa”—places Mr. Baba Ali among the key custodians of culture and tradition in the area, while also charging him with the responsibility of promoting the image and interests of Ankpa both within and beyond the community.
Reactions have continued to trail the announcement, with residents and associates describing the honour as well deserved, given Mr. Baba Ali’s record of service and dedication to humanitarian causes.
The palace further noted that the recognition serves not only as a personal honour but also as an encouragement for others to contribute meaningfully to the cultural and developmental aspirations of Ankpa.
