Comrade Edoka Enuh, Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Labour Matters and immediate past Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Kogi State, has praised the enduring legacy of the late Prince Abubakar Audu, describing him as a rare individual celebrated both in life and in death.
He made the remarks on Saturday, in an interview with newsmen shortly after the 10-year memorial anniversary of Prince Audu, held at the late leaderâs country home in Ogbonicha, Ofu LGA.
âIn the history of life, this is the first time I am seeing a human being celebrated both in life and in death. The crowd that is here today is unprecedented. It tells you the truth about how he lived. He dedicated his entire life and time to the well-being of others,â Enuh said.
The labour leader highlighted the massive turnout at the ceremony, noting that people came from across Kogi Stateâfrom the West, Central, and Eastâdemonstrating the late leaderâs widespread impact.
âPeople are here in great numbers from every part of life. It shows you who our leader was, the doggedness he applied in service, and the kind of minds he built. For every human who lives, he must live to be remembered in this nature,â he added.
Comrade Enuh also commended the children of Prince Audu for sustaining his legacy, calling them âgreatâ for keeping the familyâs vision alive.
He further praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for supporting the family, noting that such backing reflects unity, love, and commitment to preserving the late leaderâs memory.
âYour Excellency, you have really supported this cause and the family. It shows oneness and love. May God continue to reward you. I will continue to pray that God Almighty will grant us the opportunity to sustain this legacy,â he said.
According to Enuh, the memorial event was not just a remembrance but also a celebration of values such as service, integrity, and dedication.
He urged all attendees and younger generations to emulate the late leaderâs commitment to public service and societal well-being.
He also reflected on the broader significance of the turnout, which included traditional rulers, political leaders, and community representatives, saying it underscores how Prince Auduâs influence transcended political, cultural, and social boundaries.
âFrom every root of life, people are here today. From the entire spectrum of our society, people are gathered in large numbers. It shows the kind of respect and love that was earned through dedication, hard work, and selflessness,â he added.
Concluding his remarks, Enuh reaffirmed his personal commitment to keeping Prince Auduâs legacy alive, pledging to continue supporting initiatives that honor the late leaderâs life and contributions.
âI will continue to pray and work to ensure that the values and lessons from Prince Auduâs life are not lost. This is a time to celebrate him, to learn from him, and to carry forward the path he charted,â he said.
