In a successful operation, the Lokoja Command of the Kogi State Vigilante Service has recovered over fifteen motorcycles, five generators, four brand new mattresses and other items at a residence in Angwan-Masara Street in Lokoja today.
According to the Special Adviser to Lokoja LGA Chairman, on security, Yusuf Muhammed Bala said the recovery was made at early hours of today when his men were on a routine night patrol along Lokoja Old Market.
“The items were recovered following a report by a motorcyclist, Joseph Emmanuel, that his motorcycle had been stolen by unknown hoodlums.
“When we got his distress call, we swung into action. My men stationed along old market saw two young men with the stolen motorcycle. But before they rush to the spot, the young men fled and abandoned the motorcycle.
“During our investigation, we discovered that some stolen items were kept in some rooms at Angwan-Masara Street. And that was how we recovered those items.
He said the recovery of the stolen items resulted from the command’s determination to end all forms of criminality in Lokoja LGA.
Bala said, “We are fully committed to combating cases of theft of motor vehicles and all forms of criminal activities in our areas of supervision.
According to Nationalwatch Tv findings, the rooms where those stolen items were recovered belong to one Muhammed Ya-Burutu Ndanusa who is at large.
