The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, is set to celebrate his one year in office with a grand event scheduled to hold on Thursday at Reveton Hotel, Lokoja, by 10 a.m.
The occasion will be chaired by Alhaji Sulaiman Baba-Ali, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency and the Gabi Sayadi of Lokoja.
According to the planning committee, the event is aimed at reflecting on the achievements recorded by the local government chairman within the past year, and to appreciate individuals and groups who have contributed to the progress of the council.
Since assuming office, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has embarked on numerous developmental projects across the local government.
These include the rehabilitation of rural roads, renovation of primary schools, empowerment of women and youths, and improvement in sanitation and healthcare delivery.
His administration has also prioritized security and grassroots engagement, fostering closer relationships between government and community leaders.
The Lokoja LG boss is also credited with promoting transparency and accountability in local governance, ensuring that public resources are judiciously utilized for the benefit of residents.
Under his leadership, several communities have witnessed improved access to basic amenities and a renewed sense of inclusion in the affairs of the council.
Alhaji Sulaiman Baba-Ali, in his capacity as chairman of the occasion, is expected to commend the council chairman for his performance and urge him to sustain the momentum in his second year in office.
Baba-Ali, a respected political leader and philanthropist, has been instrumental in mobilizing support for grassroots development initiatives across Lokoja and beyond.
The event will also feature presentation of awards to individuals, organizations, and community groups who have contributed meaningfully to the growth and stability of the local government area.
Cultural displays, goodwill messages, and solidarity speeches from stakeholders are also lined up to add color to the ceremony.
Dignitaries expected at the event include traditional rulers, political office holders, civil servants, youth and women groups, and representatives of community-based organizations.
The celebration, organizers say, is not just to mark a milestone but to reaffirm the council’s commitment to service delivery, people-oriented leadership, and community development.
