Chief Bisi Akande, pioneer Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Wednesday received the Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, at his residence in Abuja.

The visit, which took place on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, was to formally present Chief Akande with a copy of the book titled Prince Abubakar Audu: A Legacy of Visionary Leadership.

The book was recently unveiled during the 10th memorial anniversary programme held in honour of the late former Governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, whose political career and contributions to governance continue to resonate across the country.

Speaking during the visit, Prince Shuaibu Audu said the book was conceived to document the leadership philosophy, political struggles, and developmental strides of the late statesman, adding that it would serve as a reference point for younger generations within and outside the APC.

He noted that Chief Akande’s role in Nigeria’s progressive politics and in the formation of the APC made him a worthy recipient of the publication, stressing that the elder statesman played a crucial part in nurturing leaders who shared similar ideals with the late Prince Abubakar Audu.

Chief Akande, while receiving the book, expressed appreciation for the visit and the gesture, describing the late former governor as a courageous politician whose commitment to public service and democratic values stood out during his lifetime.

He further commended the organisers of the memorial anniversary and the authors of the book for preserving the history and legacy of Prince Abubakar Audu, noting that such documentation is vital for strengthening institutional memory in Nigeria’s political space.

The interaction also provided an opportunity for both leaders to reflect on the journey of the APC, its founding principles, and the sacrifices of leaders who contributed to the growth of the party from its formative years.

Observers noted that the visit highlighted the enduring ties among key stakeholders of the ruling party and reaffirmed the importance of unity, mentorship, and continuity in sustaining the vision of progressive governance in Nigeria.
