The much awaited Lokoja Boat Regatta that converges Lokojans home and abroad is billed to hold on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the John Holt, Kpata Market, Lokoja with the theme “Celebrating the Aquatic Splendor of Lokoja”.
According to the organizers of the Lokoja Boat Regatta, the Lokoja Forum of Patriots LFP, the boat regatta which is in its fifth edition, will feature a parade of boats and yachts, including large fishing boats, ferries, barges and other marine vessels that are beautifully adorned.
In an interview with Nationalwatch Tv shortly after the meeting with coordinators, held in Lokoja local government council hall on Monday, the LFP Vice Chairman, Hon. Isah Umar, revealed that in addition to the colorful array of decorated floats, there will be a display of unique nature of Lokoja as a confluence city.
He further added that the Boat Regatta will also feature jet skis display, canoe races that will encompass all the wards and neighboring riverine areas.
On his own part, Hassan Garba, the coordinator of Ward ‘B’ said all is set for the Saturday boat regatta calling on the general public to avail themselves of the opportunity.
