Again, APC Stakeholders Endorse Senator Karimi, Hon. Aguye, Speaker, Others for Second Term

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja Local Government Area,  today reaffirmed their confidence in key party leaders, endorsing Senator Sunday Karimi, Hon. Danladi Sulaiman Aguye, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Yusuf, and other serving lawmakers for a second term in office.

The endorsement took place at the Reveton Hotel, Lokoja, during the one-year anniversary celebration of the Lokoja Local Government Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu.

The motion for the endorsement was moved by Hon. Sulaiman Baba-Ali, the APC leader in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency and the Gabi Sayadi of Lokoja.

While moving the motion, Hon. Baba-Ali praised the lawmakers for their commitment, loyalty, and developmental impact across Kogi West.

“Senator Karimi, Hon. Danladi Aguye, and the Speaker have all shown uncommon dedication to the service of their people,” Baba-Ali said.

“They have justified the trust reposed in them, and we, the stakeholders of our great party, believe they deserve another term to consolidate on their achievements.”

He emphasized that the endorsement was not just a political gesture, but a reflection of the people’s satisfaction with the performance of their elected leaders.

Baba-Ali also lauded Hon. Abdullahi Adamu for transforming Lokoja Local Government within one year, describing him as one of the most performing chairmen in Kogi State.

In his remarks, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu, Chairman of Lokoja Local Government, thanked the party stakeholders for their unity and confidence in the APC.

He noted that the endorsement of the lawmakers showed that the party remains strong, united, and ready to retain power at all levels.

Adamu listed his achievements over the past year to include the rehabilitation of rural roads, empowerment of youth and women, provision of educational support to students, renovation of primary health centers, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence among communities.

“Our administration has focused on touching lives directly through community projects, social support, and open governance,” Adamu said.

“We will continue to serve the people of Lokoja with transparency and dedication.”

Also speaking, Senator Sunday Karimi expressed appreciation to the stakeholders for their continued trust and support, assuring that he would remain focused on attracting more federal projects to Kogi West.

He highlighted his ongoing efforts in rural electrification, school renovation, and youth empowerment across the senatorial district.

Hon. Danladi Sulaiman Aguye, the member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, thanked the stakeholders for standing firmly by him and promised to sustain his grassroots-driven approach to representation.

“This endorsement is a challenge to do more,” Aguye said.

“We will not take your confidence for granted. Our commitment to the development of Kogi West remains total.”

The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Yusuf, also pledged continued cooperation with other lawmakers to advance the interests of the state and strengthen the legislative arm.

Traditional rulers, party elders, women and youth groups who spoke at the event commended the unity among APC leaders in Kogi West, describing the endorsement as a reflection of stability and progress within the party.

The colourful ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to distinguished personalities in recognition of their contributions to the development of Lokoja Local Government.

As the 2027 general elections draw closer, political observers view the latest endorsement as a major boost for the APC in Kogi West, consolidating its internal strength and signaling broad-based support for the current leadership.

The development is also seen as a strong message of unity, continuity, and shared vision among the party’s stakeholders across the senatorial district.
