The graduating students and alumni of Liwa’ul Hamdi Islamic Nursery/Primary School in Lokoja were presented with different prizes for their outstanding performances at the school’s 20th valedictory service and graduation ceremony on Sunday.
The school Head Teacher, Mallama Zainab Hashim, announced that 38 primary school pupils graduated from the school, saying that they have successfully completed their primary education.
She added the pupils have been groomed to face the next level of their academics.
“We have inculcated in them the spirit to strive for excellence in everything they do, expand their horizons beyond academics and moulded them through a wide range of talents, which gives them the skills and experience to succeed and become leaders in the global world,” she said.
In his keynote address, chairman of the occasion, Mallam Abdulrazak Mohammed Yusuf, commended the teachers for the success of their pupils, saying that the learning gains evidenced at Liwa’ul Hamdi Islamic Nursery/Primary School were as a result of their dedication, passion and hardwork.
Abdulrazak, who is also the Executive Chairman of Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), congratulated the graduating students and urged them to be of good character.
He said SUBEB would continue to support the pursuit of both Islamic and Western education.
He called on the graduating students to make judicious use of the knowledge acquired, stressing that they should be good ambassadors of the school.
Speaking at the 2025 graduation ceremony, Hon. Mohammed Ibukun Abubakar-Ola Bukky, admonished the graduating students to use their potential to achieve success and make a positive impact on society.
He prayed their future be filled with endless possibilities, exciting adventures and boundless success.
“I want you to continue to shine brightly in your next endeavour and to remain worthy ambassadors of this college,” Bukky said.
In his remarks, a philanthropist, Mallam Isah Minkail, cautioned the graduants against keeping bad company and unnecessary arguments that could cause trouble for themselves and the society.
He congratulated them and urged them to imbibe the teachings of the Holy Quran in their daily activities.
Minkail also called on parents to enrol their children in western educational schools, stressing that girl-child education was paramount to the nation`s development.
Highlight of the event was recitation of the Holy Quran, Book launch, unveiling of calendar, presentation of certificates and awards.
Dignitaries from all walks of life attended the ceremony.
