An Islamic organisation under the aegis of Sisters of Jannah, Lokoja Zone (LSOJ), has called on Muslims across the country to use the period of Hijra, migration of Holy Prophet to Medina, to reflect on their past and amend their ways in order to enjoy the blessing of God Almighty.
The Executive Chief Imam of Miftahul Khaira Juma’at Masjid, Phase 2, Lokongoma Lokoja, Hon. Khadi Muhammad M. Bello, made the call on Sunday in his opening remarks during the monthly Lecture Series organized by Miftahul Khairat Juma’a Masjid in collaboration with Sisters of Jannah, Lokoja Zone.
While admonishing Muslims to be mindful of their mode of dressing, he advised them to always spend their money in propagating Islam by assisting the needy in the society.
Bello who commended the organisers of the monthly lecture series, urged Muslims to observe the forthcoming Hijrah New Year and other Islamic festivals with utmost peace, harmony, and a profound sense of spiritual responsibility.
The chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Yahaya Adams, the Kogi State General Manager of the Nigerian Television Authority NTA, urged Muslims and non-Muslims in to love one another in the interest of peace.
He enjoined parents to prioritise the training of their children in godly ways to free the society from social vices associated to young people.
Engr. Imam Usman Tawheed, who delivered a lecture at the occasion, said the Prophet of Islam used hijrah to unify the Arabs.
He advised Muslims in the country to be patient and be perseverance in the interest of peace.
