GROUP BACKS GOVERNOR ODODO FOR SECOND TERM

Members of the “Like Minds Alliance Pressure Group”, Kogi West chapter, have again threw their full weight behind Kogi Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo for a second term.

The governor’s endorsement was part of the take at the group routne meeting in Lokoja, at the Liberty Hotel on Saturday 14/6/2025 and made known in a communique released on Sunday 15/6/2025.

According to the communique, the National Coordinator for the group, and a former media aide to former Governor, Idris Wada moved the motion for the adoption of the resolutions while the Zonal Woman leader seconded the motion. The communique was signed by Hon Gani from Lokoja axis.

Leaders of the group from kogi West Senatorial District, which includes, Koto-karfi, Lokoja,kabba Bunu federal constituency/Yagba federal constituency’s , have unanimously endorsed Governor Ododo for a second term in office.

The leaders explained that the administration of Governor Ododo less than 2 years has positively impacted on the lives of the people across the 21 LGA’s of the state.

Chief Asaje therefore called on kogi westerners to be united and work towards governor’s Ododo second term as wished by the general populace.

He noted that it is in the interest of kogi west senatorial district to continue to support Governor Ododo in furtherance of the socia-economic development of the state.

This will give Kogi westerners, particularly okun extraction a better chance to occupy Lugard House come 2031, he opined..

The group during the meeting praised Governor Ododo for his outstanding performance in several key areas..

The communique also read that leaders from Lokoja , koto-karfi urged the National Coordinator for the group, HE Chief Richard Asaje to tell Hon Leke Abejide , House of Representatives member, representing Yagba Federal Constituency to extend the Woman Cooperative Society to the axis , noting that Hon Leke Abejide is sincerely love by all and that they have strong believe in his outstanding leadership qualities.

Asaje implore residents of Lokoja/koto-karfi axis to exercise little patience for Hon Leke Abejide and assured that Hon Leke Abejide will surely extend his olive arm’s to the people in the axis.. He sees us as one indivisible entity, he said.

Asaje further urged representatives from yagba land to go back home and start immediate campaign for Hon Leke Abejide 3rd term agenda, stating that re-electing “Leke Abejide for 3rd term will enable yagba to have a principal officer in National Assembly and would further steer yagba land toward even greater achievements..,he added.

In a statement, Chief Asaje commended FGYB efforts in making possible,30% percent Women participation in governance in the state and thank Governor for building on the legacy of Yahaya Bello, the “Olushola Sarak of kogi politics”.

Women engagement is critical and it is important to recognize that women are not a homogeneous group.Clearly , women representation is a critical factor for the development of inclusive, responsive, and transparent democracies..,he emphasized.

It was a successful and a productive meeting.

Governor Ododo was particularly commended for his infrastructure development initiatives, strengthening better connectivity and enhancing the quality of life for Kogites.
