It was a very colourful and memorable occasion for Alhaji Ali Zaki when he was turbaned as the Galadiman Pawa of Lokoja by the Maigari of Lokoja, His Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Maikarfi, on Sunday.
The historic event, was graced by prominent personalities from all walks of life, including the Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Forum Yahaya Danladi, Hon Ibrahim Dansabe Idi, the Sarkin Pawa of Lokoja, Alhaji Bala Haruna, the Santali of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Danladi Sulaiman, the Tsonfada of Lokoja and a host of others.
Conducting the ceremonial rites for the new title holder, the Waziri of Lokoja, Abdulrahaman Idris, prayed God to give long life, sound health and wisdom to the new Galadiman Pawa of Lokoja to accomplish responsibilities ahead of him.
Explaining reasons for the selection of Ali Zaki as the new Galadiman Pawa of Lokoja, the Maigari of Lokoja said Zaki merited the position in view of his invaluable contributions to the upliftment of the emirate and the less privileged in the society.
In his appreciation to the Maigari for the honour bestowed him, the new Galadiman Pawa of Lokoja, expressed his profound gratitude to the emirate as he accepted the new title wholeheartedly.
Acknowledging the enormity of the responsibility in the title, he prayed God to guard and guide him at all times in the discharge of the expected duties.
He said “I want to assure His Highness and people of Lokoja, that I will do my best to continue to serve Lokoja and Nigerians in general”.
He also solicited the cooperation and prayers of all stakeholders to discharge his duties as expected.
He expressed his appreciation to all that came to grace the occasion praying Allah to grant them journey mercy to their respective destinations.
