A philanthropist and Founder, Chairman/CEO of Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isa Kutepa, has distributed Ramadan packages to over 5,000 households across the ten wards of Lokoja local government area of Kogi State for Ramadan.
Speaking at the formal distribution of the packages, at the Maigari of Lokoja palace, Alhaji Danladi Abdulsalam, who represented the donor stated that the packages comprises 5,000 50kg bags of rice, 3,000 cartons of Macaroni, 3,000 cartons of Spaghetti, 2,000 cartons of Indomie, milk, eggs among others.
He urged officials handling the distribution to demonstrate responsibility and sincerity to ensure all beneficiaries receive their shares.
According to him, the beneficiaries were selected from all the ten wards in Lokoja local government area.
Abdulsalam further hinted that the beneficiaries are, associations, politicians, people with special needs and less privileged.
“The gesture is to to enable the beneficiaries observe their fasting with ease”, he added.
Representative of the Maigari of Lokoja, Aliyu Jiya Lawal who thanked Kutepa for the gesture, appealed to top politicians, wealthy individuals and business moguls in the LGA to use the Month of Ramadan to assist the less privileged to enable them participate in the fasting easily.
“I want to call on our top politicians, wealthy individuals and business men and women to utilize what they have in assisting the less privileged particularly during this Month of Ramadan in order to cushion their socioeconomic hardship and observe the Ramadan fasting with ease, ” he said.
