PROMISE KEPT: Aguye Flags Off 2Km Agbaja Township Road Construction

The member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon. Sulaiman Danladi Aguye has flagged off the construction of a 2km Agbaja township road in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Handing the road project over to the construction firm, DRB Construction at Agbaja on Thursday, Aguye noted that rural road was one of his areas of interest.

He maintained that the 2km concrete pavement township road was part of his efforts in supporting the efforts of the Kogi State government on road construction and maintenance.

The lawmaker explained that the rural road project would be carried out in phases across his constituency.

He noted that the road had posed a major challenge to the rural dwellers, especially the famers, but expressed satisfaction and confidence in Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s effort in the development of road infrastructure for the people of Kogi State.

“I urge all stakeholders to work with us so that we can collectively foster the growth and development of our great district. May Allah help us,” Aguye  added.

The legislator, however, appealed to residents to exercise patience as the ongoing project progress, assuring of continued quality representation at the National Assembly.

Delivering his Royal blessing, the Maasi of Agbaja, Alhaji Abubakar Isah Alugbere, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Rep. Aguye and all those involved in bringing the long-awaited project to fruition.

He lauded the initiative as a beacon of hope and a major step forward for the community.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the flag-off ceremony, one of the community leaders and the Director-General Procurement, Kogi State, Barrister Sunday Ehimoni, congratulated the residents of Agbaja for achieving this significant development.

He highlighted the importance of the road, noting that it was prioritized due to its strategic impact on multiple communities and its potential to foster economic growth.

“The, Agbaja Township Road project, with its far-reaching implications for connectivity, commerce, and community development, stands as a testament to the transformative power of responsive leadership”, Ehimoni stressed.

One of the APC leaders in the area, Adoga Akoriko, described Aguye as a go-getter.

He extolled the efforts of the lawmaker for his prompt response to the yearnings of his constituents.

Akoriko said, “Aguye is a go-getter and I want to commend him highly for always attending to the basic needs of his people, especially those in the rural areas.”

Some stakeholders thanked the lawmaker for making his people proud with quality representation, adding that he had embarked on several life touching programmes, including; economic empowerment, job creation and capital projects.
