To commemorate Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s One in office, a support group, ‘Ododo Major Boys’ (OMB), has donated food items and cash to orphanages and covered the medical bills of some indigent patients at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital in Lokoja on Tuesday.
Speaking, Hon. Abdulrahman Hussaini, who is the Chairman of the OMB, said the Governor desired that his one year anniversary should be celebrated with the less privileged.
“We are here to celebrate the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, who just completed one year in office on Monday and we identify with you and share Ododo’s message with all of you”, Hon. Hussaini stated at Specialist Hospital, Lokoja.
He asked the patients to pray for peace, unity and prosperity of Kogi State under Ododo’s governorship.
The OMB chairman who is fondly called ‘Gentle’ on behalf of the group donated gift items such as bags of rice, beverages, vegetable oil, mosquito nets, cartoons of indomie and spaghetti, detergents, pampers, toiletries, among others to the vulnerable.
In a goodwill message at Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, OMB co-chairman, Hon. Godfrey Adekoye, assured of better days as Governor Ododo starts his second year in office.
The patients expressed joy and gratitude to the group for the support, noting that the donations would go a long way in putting smiles on their faces and reassuring them that they are not neglected.
They remarked that the assistance came at a crucial time.
At the Specialist Hospital in Lokoja, the group distributed cash, food items and essential toiletries to some patients on admission and covered the medical bill for a patient with a severe fracture, as well as delivery costs for two expectant mothers.
Recall that the group also organized a special prayer session for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Tuesday, at the Lokoja Central Mosque.
