It was a delightful moment for staff and students of primary and Secondary schools in Lokoja local government area of Kogi State as the Forum Ward Special Assistants (WSA) distributed  exercise books to the students.

The donation according to the WSA Forum, Hon. Muhammad Baba Sulaiman, was part of the forum’s  initiative in supporting pupils in primary and secondary schools in the State, especially the indigent ones.

Addressing the staff and students at Model Primary and Secondary School, Adankolo in Lokoja, on Monday, Sulaiman said; “Under the transformation leadership of governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, we are empowered to initiate change in critical sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare and education.

“Together, we are determined to empower our youths, uplift our women and ensure that no community in Kogi State is left untouched by the dividends of good governance.

“Based on the administration’s focus on education as a cornerstone of development, we are uccessfully distributing exercise books to primary and secondary school students in public schools across the state.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Lokoja LGA education secretary, Alhaji Abdulkadir Danladi Yakubu, expressed his gratitude to the donors, stating that since resumption of the new academic session, many pupils have not been able to resume school as result of inability of their parents to afford exercise books and other learning materials, but said with the kind gesture of WSA Forum, many of the parents will now heave a sigh of relief as their children and wards will now have something to write on and learn with.

“I am very glad and excited today because WSA Forum has done a wonderful thing. The parents of some of these pupils have not been able to afford their books. But now all of them that are present today in school have received several note books, not just one or two, and this will go along way for them”.

Representative of the Secretary to the Kogi State government, Mrs Babatunde Josephine Motunrayo thanked the members of the WSA Forum and prayed God to bless them in all their endeavors and call on pupils who have not resume school to come so that they could as well benefit from the donation.
