The Maigari of Lokoja Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV on Monday donated drugs and other consumable worth millions of naira to the two primary health care clinics in Anguwan Yashi, Anguwan Kura and Kabawa communities in Lokoja the state capital.
The gesture was part of the activities slated for the one year cerebration of the first class traditional ruler on the throne of his fore fathers .
Speaking at the three clinics, the Maigari of Lokoja said the gesture was to ensure that the clinics provide quality healthcare to residents of the communities.
He charged the health workers in the primary health care to do their best in providing the health needs of the communities, assuring that the Lokoja traditional institution would continue to support the primary health care centres in Lokoja.
In his words of appreciation the Lokoja local government Chairman Hon. Abdullahi Adamu thank the Maigari of Lokoja for the support, saying the effort will complement the effort of Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in providing quality health care for the people of the State.
He cautioned the health workers in the clinics not to sell the items for any reason, stressing that the drugs should be given to patients free of charge.
Hon. Adamu prayed to God to protect and guide the traditional ruler to enable him sustained the existing peace, unity and progress in his dormain during his reign.
Also speaking, the Angwan Yashi community leader, Alhaji Muhammed Umar Inuwa who described the reign of the Maigari as eventful for the people of Lokoja, expressed appreciation for the donation of the drugs and medicaments to the Primary Health Care Centres.
Inuwa, who is a retired Deputy Comtroller of Immigration Service, further called on the people of Lokoja to always give their maximum support to the Maigari.
