As The immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello regains freedom from the Kuje Minimum Correctional Center, the Custodial Centre, Like Minds Alliance Pressure Group has urged Kogite to Jubilate the freedom of the former governor who is now in his residence.
FGYB who is facing trial for alleged money laundering and abuse of office, has been released from detention after fulfilling the bail conditions set by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court.
Adamu Duzs , spokesperson for the FCT Command of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), confirmed the development.
Chief Asaje in an interactive session with political pundits at Ejire Hotels, Obajana, stated that FGYB is a brave, leader who is on the path to liberate Kogites from sectional marginalization for equity and fairness in governance in the State.
Speaking further, he said that FGYB tenure immensely benefitted the people of the state, noting that the records of the FGYB administration are there for all to see.
“lt ensure 30% women participation in governance,100% youths involvement in government, ensure that tertiary institutions cut across the 3 Senatorial Districts of Kogi State, re-align the dying health/agricultural sector,built the first flyover in the state and the role played by FGYB of course had elevated good governance in the state
Emphasizing that FGYB could not be deprived of the credit for the reforms that set the direction for the infrastructural programmes delivering by his successors to transform kogi to one of the biggest economies in Nigeria..
From some quarters, they claimed that 8 years tenure of FGYB make life became unbearable for kogite and in hunger raveged due to percentage payment of staff salaries in the state, but I would say that FGYB administration is not a waste.
Governor Ododo, his successor has changed the old order of things and putting smiles on the faces of all kogite, he exclaimed..
In a statement, Chief Asaje said that FGYB broke the barrier of political bigotry and his decision to back Alhaji Usman Ododo, is to enable the good people of kogi west/Okun extraction, the opportunity to present the next governor after Governor Ododo’s tenure in office..
FGYB freedom from detention is an advantage to the good people of kogi west/kogites, he is a good political master planner, and the future is very, very good because he remains the god father of kogi politics..
Chief Asaje thanked Governor Ododo for his outstanding leadership style, for standing by the truth and aligning with the truth, saying this is a jubilation period for all kogite.. Former Governor Yahaya Bello is another “Olushola Saraki of kogi politics..
A word of encouragement and solidarity that we stood by him,when we organized and conducted special prayers for FGYB on the 11/12/2024 in lsanlu, Yagba East LGA, during the last routine meeting of the group in Yagba Federal Constituency, some where even critizicing and mockering us, for organizing such prayers for FGYB.. We are not going to be arrogant and we are not going to insult anybody or abuse anybody as ambassador of peace and lover of good governance in kogi state..
Though the battle is not completely won, but we are sure that his freedom from detention is amazing and surely he will overcome all challenges soonest..
It is now more than ever necessity that political leaders to shun political bickering and all other ills that is threatening the political stability of the state and look beyond divisive issues and political affiliation !
