Kogi Grand Khadi, Others Attend 8-Day Fidau Prayer For Magajin-Gari Of Lokoja Mother

Kogi State Grand Khadi, Justice Abdulkareem Aruwa, on Friday led other dignitaries to attend the fidau prayer for Hajiya Aminatu Shiekh Shaibu Kenchi, mother of the Magajin-Gari of Lokoja, Alifa Ibrhim Estu Shaibu Kenchi.

Other dignitaries that graced the event included a the Chairman, Lokoja LGA, member representing Lokoja 1 State Constituency, Shehu Tijjani Ebaiya,  former speaker Kogi State House of Assembly Rt Hon Alfa Imam, Hakimis, traditional title holders, top government officials and Islamic clerics.

Hajiya Aminatu died on Friday at the age of 86 and was buried the same day at the Muslim Cemetery in Hangwan Kura, Lokoja.

The fidau prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Lokoja Central Mosque, Sheikh Aminu Shaban who was supported by eminent scholars.

In a brief sermon, the Chief Imam who extolled the virtues of the deceased, reminded all of God’s commandment that they should take good care of their parents, dead or alive.

He charged the children of the deceased to sustain her legacies of good neighbourliness and friendly disposition to family members.

Shiekh Shaban further admonished children to remember their dead parents through acts of charity and kindness to the needy.

Highlight of the occasion was recitation of the Holy Quran.
