The Lokoja Forum of Patriots (LFP), on Tuesday met with critical stakeholders to conclude arrangements for the Lokoja Boat Regatta, scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
Addressing the stakeholders in a meeting held at Lokoja Local Government Council Hall on Tuesday, the LFP Regatta Coordinator, Nnda Umar, said, “we are here to finalize arrangements for Saturday boat regatta.
He appealed to the stakeholders to work hard and ensure that all the necessary logistics were in place for the festival, thanking them for their usual cooperation.
The LFP Regatta Coordinator assured the stakeholders of the LFP’s commitment to the promotion of culture and empowerment of the youth in all sectors of the economy.
He said: “We have put everything in place for the Saturday event, so we are good to go.
Responding, the stakeholders unanimously promised to work in synergy with the LFP to make the event successful.
They also promised to rally their members to give unwavering support towards achieving the desirable outcome.
Stakeholders in attendance include; representatives of the Marine Police, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Road Safety Corps, Ministry of Art, Culture and Tourism, Vigilante Service, the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and Red Cross Society.
