It was yet another round of commendations and eulogies for the late Mojisola Aishat Bala Salisu, wife of a former chairman of Lokoja Local Government Council, Alhaji Bala Salisu, as politicians and religious leaders paid glowingly tributes to the life and times of the late Moji.
The tributes were made at the 8th day fidau prayer for the late Aishat Mojisola who died at the age of 50 years.
The event, which was held at the deceased husband’s family residence in Lokoja, was attended by several political leaders, government functionaries, party members, families and friends.
At the event were the Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf, member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon. Danladi Sulaiman Aguye, APC leader in Lokoja and Kogi LGA, Hon. Sulaiman Baba-Ali, former member House Representatives, Haruna Isah and the immediate past chairman of Lokoja LGA, Hon. Muhammed Adamu.
The Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaban, presided over the fidau prayer and was supported by Sheikh Abubakar Adamu.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam charged other women to emulate the life and times of late Moji Bala Salisu who he described as a good religious woman and community leader.
While stating that others should learn from her death, the Shaban added that no matter what people spent their time acquiring on earth with their positions, they would not go with anything after their death.
He charged the children of the deceased not to let their mother’s position within community remain vacuum.
In his goodwill message during the prayer session, Alhaji Sulaiman Baba-Ali, described late Aishat Mojisola Alhaji as an upright woman whom he held in high esteem.
“She was a trustworthy woman that carried other women and children along”, he said.
Other dignitaries at the prayer were, Kogi State commissioner for Water Resources, Engr Danladi Faruq, the Roggan of Eggan, HRH Muhammed Hassan Umar, all Hakimis, traditional title holders, top politicians, Islamic clerics and friends of Alhaji Bala Salisu.
