52-yr-old Mother Appeals For Financial Support For Son’s Urgent Brain Surgery

A 52-year-old mother, Halimat Idris, who resides at No. K84, Karaworo, Behind Alheri, Lokoja, is urgently seeking financial assistance for her mentally retarded 28-year-old son, Muktar Idris, who requires critical brain surgery.

The mother discovered that her son, Ahmed Hassan, was suffering from a serious mental retardation after involving in an accident with a motorcycle.

Initially treated at Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, Ahmed was later transferred to Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, in Kaduna for advanced care.

Medical professionals there have confirmed that he needs surgery, with an estimated cost of N800,000.

Making the appeal during an encounter, with Nationalwatch Tv and MOHAB Peoples Care Foundation, on Monday, Halimat shared her distressing situation, saying, “I have exhausted all my options and don’t know where to turn. My son’s health is my top priority, and I am pleading for help from anyone who can assist us.”

“Doctors have confirmed that Ahmed requires a complex brain surgery that will cost an estimated N800,000.”

Currently planning to start a business of selling provisions, Halimat is reaching out to the public for help in raising the necessary funds for her son’s surgery.
