Jubilation rented the air at Muslim Community Secondary School, Lokongoma, Lokoja, when Danko Development Forum  (DDF), handed over the keys of a block of two classrooms and laboratory equipment to the school, in furtherance of its vision to support education through the Forum’s philanthropic works.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the DDF Chairman, Hon. Banma Mundi, said the gesture formed part of the Forum’s efforts to support the underprivileged and contribute his quota in bridging the infrastructural deficit in schools in Lokoja LGA.

Mundi, reckoned that the figure of children without access to education in Lokoja  LGA is still alarmingly high, a development that should trigger an alignment between the government, private sector and well-meaning Nigerians to address the gap.

“I have always believed that as individuals we should always remember where we are coming from. Society has been kind to some of us and we should give thanks to God; in addition to that, we must give back to that society.

He encouraged the school authority to put the items to good use and be studious in their education.

The DDA chairman said, “It is our culture and tradition to always give back to the society and that is what we have done.”

Speaking while receiving the keys to the new classrooms, the Principal of the school, Abdullahi Abubakar expressed his appreciation and noted that the gesture was the first of its kind since he began working at the school

“It is very obvious from the kind of joy you see the students express that this donation means a lot to them. This is the first time we are receiving something like this from anybody or organisation since I have been here.

This two classrooms block and laboratory equipment donation to our school will go a long way to help our students have a conducive learning environment.

The principal also appreciated the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi for his presence at the occasion.

In his remarks while commissioning the project, the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi, who commended the DDA for the gesture, said posterity will never forget the facilitator of the project for the monumental gesture, which he noted has given the school a sense of belonging.

He appealed to well spirited individuals in Lokoja to emulate DDF.

The monarch prayed God to reward the Forum abundantly.

Highlights of the occasion is, recitation of the Holy Quran by a student, experiment by science students and cultural dance.
