The newly turbaned Santali of Lokoja, Alhaji Bala Muhammed Haruna, has expressed appreciation to the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikafi over his coronation yesterday.
Expressing his appreciation at his GRA residence in Lokoja shortly after the turbaning ceremony, Haruna, who is a retired NNPC Limited Director, said the turbaning was a morale booster for him.
“I am highly delighted to be turbaned by the Maigari of Lokoja as Santali of Lokoja.
“I wish to use this medium to express my sincere appreciation to the Maigari for the confidence reposed in me.
Haruna a philanthropist, described the appointment as “a call to service by the Maigari to deliver on our mandate to meet the aspirations and expectations of Lokojans”.
He, therefore, promised to do everything humanly possible to safeguard the title and uphold the integrity of the Emirate.
“I have always identified myself with the dreams and aspirations of the Maigari and I will continue to work towards ensuring that he actualizes them.
“This recognition is a call to action for me, and I am ready and willing to give my all for the development of the Emirate,” Haruna vowed.
“On behalf of my family, I wish to sincerely thank all for honouring our invitation. May God grant you journey mercies to your respective places of abode and reward you abondantly for your contributions towards the success of this ceremony. Once again, thank you and God bless.
