The confluence city of Lokoja was agog with activities on Friday, when dignitaries from all works of life joined late Umar Buba Jibril’s family to celebrate the wedding of his son.
The Buba’s son, Yakubu Tanimu Umar tied the nuptial knot with his beautiful bride, Amina Musa in a grand style at Felele Primary School in Lokoja.
The wedding Fatihah was contracted by the Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaban after the pronouncement of the payment of three Hundred and fifty thousand Naira (N350, 00:00) dowry.
The wedding Fatihah was witnessed by hundreds of well wishes, among whom were the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Umar Yusuf Aliyu, House of Representatives member representing Lokoja/ Kogi Federal Constituency, Danladi Sulaiman Aguye, House of Assembly member representing Lokoja 1 State Constituency Hon Shehu Tijjani Ebaiya, Rogan of Eggan, Muhammed Hassan Umar, traditional rulers, top government officials and other political associates of late Bubs.
The excited Speaker said that it was a thing of joy and great honour to witness the wedding, saying that it is the wish of every father to witness such occasion. He therefore charged them to live happily as husband and wife.
On his on part, the Rogan of Eggan, while admonishing the newly wedded couple, charged them to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, patience and love in their marriage.
