An Activist, Hon.Yusuf Yahaya, has announced his interest to contest the Councilorship seat for Lokoja Ward ‘C’ in the October 19 local government election under the platform of the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
He made the announcement on Thursday while addressing a crowd of supporters and leaders of SDP at an event in Karaworo, Lokoja.
Yahaya said his interest in contesting the Councilorship election is born out of his passion “to rekindle the Ward’s dream that I was privileged to live”. And for the fact that iner Karaworo were I hails from has never produce councilor since 1990.
He said currently, Ward ‘C’ is a “sinking ship” that must be rescued urgently.
The Frontline aspirant described the Ward as a land of possibilities that is in dire need of a visionary representative.
“We need a new kind of representation that will steer us to a positive path. We want a Councilor who has ideas on how to fix the Ward. We want a Councilor who understands, inspires, and is empathetic.
“I offer myself to rescue the sinking ship. Under my representation, this ship will sail to a brighter course by the grace of God. However, this journey is not mine alone. It is a journey I am taking for all the people of Ward ‘C’.”
