BREAKING: Kogi SIEC Meets With Stakeholders, Political Parties, Fixes October 19 For LGA Election

The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) has fixed October 19, 2024, to conduct local government councils elections.

The Resident Electoral Commission (REC), Mamman Nda Eri, announced this in Reverton Hotel, Lokoja on Tuesday, at a press conference and meeting with all party stakeholders.

He said the commission has concluded necessary arrangements to conduct the 2024 local government councils’ elections in accordance with its mandates.

“In that regard, I’m happy to inform you that as circulated in some national dailies recently, has been fixed  by the commission for holding the local government councils’ elections in the state,” he further stressed.

Eri said, “this commission by its mandate and according to the law, has a duty to create a level playing ground for all political parties and candidates that may wish to participate in the forthcoming local councils’ election.”

While assuring of their commitment to conduct a free and fair election, Eri  urged stakeholders to join hands with the commission in abiding by the rules and regulations
