The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Maikafi has appointed Alhaji Idi Ibrahim as the Sarkin Pawa of Lokoja Emirate.
Until his appointment, the new Sarkin Pawa held the position of Secretary, Middle Belt Butchers Association.
Speaking shortly after the appointment, the Maigari congratulated the new Sarkin Pawa and tasked him to uphold the good image of the emirate and respect the norms, culture and traditions of people of Lokoja.
The monarch urged him to use his wealth of experiences and vast influence to bring more progress and development to the emirate while appealing to him to work as a team to sustain the existing peace, love and unity among the diverse people of Lokoja Emirate, Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole.
In an interview, the new Sarkin Pawa Alhaji Idi Ibrahim pledged his continued loyalty to the Maigari and the emirate council, while assuring to do his best to uplift the traditional heritage and sanctity of the royal dynasty.
He thanked the Maigari for considering him worthy of the position and to carry all the butchers in the local government area along.
He called on other contestants in the race to join hands with to pilot the affairs of meat sellers in the area.
In a related development, the newly appointed Galadima of Pawa, Alhaji Ali Zaki, expressed his appreciation to the Maigari for considering him worthy of the position.
Zaki, who is also a meat seller called on other members of the union to rally round the newly appointed Sarkin Pawa, Alhaji Idi Ibrahim to make him succeed.
“I will give the newly appointed Sarkin Pawa all the assistance and support he needed to make him succeed. Ibrahim is our brother, we rejoice with him on his new appointment,” Zaki concluded.
