A mother of two children, Amudat Ahmed, has alleged threats to her life and attempted assassination by her former husband’s Church members for refusing to be converted to Christianity.
She narrated her ordeal in an interview with Nationalwatch Tv and the Founder, MOHAB Foundation, Mallam Mohammed Abubakar, at her Felele, Lokoja residence on Monday.
According to her, having heard this dangerous plan against her, she had to run for her life which led her to seeking refuge with a sympathizer at Felele, Lokoja.
She said she was abandoned by her husband living her with the two children to cater for since three years ago.
She further said they got married some years ago at Ofa in Kwara State and relocated to Lokoja when Kogi State was created.
“We they’ve been loving peaceful until one day when my husband traveled to the village and came back to asked me never to cook for him again and converted from Islam to Christianity same week.
“I tried to find out why, but he didn’t tell me the reason, rather he said he wanted the children and I to join his new fate but we refused. As he was left with no choice he than asked us to leave the house.
“We were later given a place to stay by a good Samaritan at Felele who now asked us to get a new place that he wanted to make use of the one room apartment we are living.
“Recently, my former husband alongside some of his Church members followed me here in Felele with two policemen to arrest me. My offence, they refused to tell me. It was some two men who came to bail me, having being detained for three days.
“Currently, my children have completed their Quranic education and they wanted to join the rest of their mates for wolimat but no money to do so.
“We wish to use this medium to seek for financial assistance to enable us settle the bill for the Walimat, secure another accommodation and to start up a business.
