An articulated Sharon bus carrying 11 passengers lost control and crashed into a shop situated at Obasanjo Square on Tuesday in Lokoja the Kogi State capital.
The accident happened around 1.20 p.m. on Murtala Muhammed Way Lokoja.
Investigations conducted by National Watch Tv revealed that the Sharon carrying 11 passengers was involved in a lone accident.
According to Isah Muhammed, driver of the commercial vehicle, the bus veered off the road and crashed into SHAMDEEN SHOWROOM opposite Obasanjo Square roundabout.
He said; “I loaded from Ayangba. When I bought fuel at Rain Oil filling station here in Lokoja, after engaging all the gears, I discovered that the break never respond again. So I managed until I find myself here.
“I thank God that nobody die or wound. I also thank the people around here who helped to pull out the passengers from the car.
Some passengers who spoke to our reporter blamed the driver for reckless driving.
They said the driver refused to heed their advice when they asked him to stop and check the condition of the vehicle as soon as they left the filling station.
However no injuries recorded as the passengers and occupants of the shop were unhurt.
