The Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Yusuf Aliyu, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu, and other dignitaries were on Sunday at Alhaji Dantala Muhammed Salisu Aliyu’s twins naming ceremony in Lokoja
Aliyu, is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The male child was named Sulaiman Aliyu while the female was named Salamatu Aliyu.
The naming ceremony which was conducted by Sheikh Aminu Muhammad Shaban, the Chief Imam of Lokoja, featured special prayers for the late Maigari of Lokoja, Dr. Alhaji Kabir Mohammodu Maikarfi and family of Aliyu.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the naming ceremony, father of the twins, Alhaji Dantala Muhammed Salisu Aliyu thanked all that came from far and near to grace the occasion.
“Let me use this medium to thank all that come to grace this occasion. I pray Almighty Allah to grant them journey mercies to their various distinctions.
In his appreciation to God, Aliyu said; “I thank God for given me these two bouncing male and female.
“This is my sixth year of marriage and God blessed me with two children at once. I thank God and I pray He do same to those who are also in need.
Highlight of the ceremony was traditional play sponsored by family and friends.
