Step Mother Of Maigari Of Lokoja  Laid To Rest

Hajia Safahu (Aduke) Mohammodu Kabir, step mother of the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Maikarfi IV, has been laid to rest.

The burial rites, which held at Maigari’s Palace, Lokoja, had the Ohimegye-Igu of Koton-Karfe, Dr. Saidu Akawu Salihu, the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Yusuf Aliyu, top government functionaries, Islamic Clerics, traditional title holders
in attendance.

The deceased, aged 59, was the wife of late Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi and the Director of Personnel Management (DPM) in Lokoja Local Government Council.

The Maiyaki of Lokoja, Alhaji Ali Lawal in an interview with National Watch Tv described her as a woman of honesty, hardwork and dedication who spent most of her life in worshipping Allah and training her children to the right path of Islam.

“We pray Allah to repose her soul in Jannatu Firdaus and give the Maigari and other members of the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable gap this death caused.

In his own remarks, the Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya Danladi Faruq, urged the family to take solace in the fact that the late Safahu lived a fulfilled life owing to the numerous achievements that had come the ways of the Maikarfi’s family.

“I pray Allah to grant the children of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss most especially at this critical period that she is highly needed.

In a related development, the Santali of Lokoja, Alhaji Bala Haruna said he was sad that Hajiya Safahu died at a time when her supportive hands were most needed by Lokoja traditional council.

He expressed his deepest sympathy to members of Maikarfi family and the entire people of Lokoja.

“I wish that Almighty Allah in his infinite mercies grant the family members the fortitude to bear this great loss,” Haruna said.
