… Charges subjects on engagement in meaningful ventures for socio-economic development

The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Maikarfi IV, has called on the people of Lokoja to take advantage of the peaceful atmosphere in the area to engage in meaningful productive ventures such as farming, animal husbandry and other entrepreneurial activities in order to boost their socio-economic capacity and achieve self-sustainability.
The Maigari stated this when he hosted the Yoruba community led by Oba of Yoruba, Alhaji Bello Audu on a traditional Sallah homage at the palace on Monday.
The monarch expressed gratitude to the Almighty Allah for seeing the Muslim Ummah through the holy month of Ramadan which came to a climax with the Eid el fitr festival, calling on Muslims and non-Muslims in the area to maintain the peace and tranquility which both Islam and Christianity preach and for which Lokoja people are well known.
He assured the Yoruba community that his administration will not relent in seeking the support, cooperation and wise counsel of the community leaders and opinion leaders in order to rule the Kingdom effectively.
He thanked the Yoruba community for the Sallah homage, assuring them of his support to them at all times.
Earlier, the Oba of Yoruba, Alhaji Bello Audu, said he led the retinue of his people to the Maigari to felicitate with him on the just concluded Eid el Fitr.
“We are here to also congratulate you on your appointment and coronation as the Maigari of Lokoja.
“Your ascension to the throne is simply an act of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) and certainly happened through his grace.
“We wish you Allah’s guidance and protection as you administer this Emirate,” the Oba Yoruba prayed.
Highlight of the event was special prayers offered by Muslim and Christian clerics among the delegation for the successful raign of the Maigari.
