The Lokoja Local Government branch of Kogi State Motorcycle Transport Union has passed a vote of no confidence on its chairman, Alhaji Baba Musa Aliyu a.k.a Babaguguru.
The Union Executive, in a meeting held in Lokoja yesterday, resolved to sack the chairman “to save the union’’.
The executive, whose resolutions were signed by all the members, appointed
Musa Sadiq Abubakar, Vice Chairman of the union to take over its leadership as Acting Chairman.
The sack of Babaguguru was contained in a letter dated April 1, 2024, in which officials of the union passed a vote of no confidence in the embattled chairman.
The letter reads: “We the under listed names and signatories have unanimously pass vote of no confidence on your leadership as THE CHAIRMAN OF NIGERIA MOTORCYCLE TRANSPORT UNION, LOKOJA LOCAL GOVERNMENT BRANCH and you’re hereby IMPEACHED.
Your impeachment is based on your ungodly and unconstitutional activities since you assumed office as the chairman.
These includes;
(A) Monopolization of Union positions
(B) Embellishment if union fund
(C) Inability to take care of welfare of members
(D)Lack of accountability as the account of union with FCMB Bank is dumant.
(E) Union hospital has closed due to your inability to service them as members are no longer accepted for treatment, the recent one that caused the ungodly, scandalous, barbaric is your refusal to deliver compensation money meant one LAWALI NUHU THAT WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND Died In Felele Lokoja not until the state chairman of the union intervened by suspending you from office before the money was released to the family of Late Lawali Nuhu.
It’s on the above issues and others too numerous to mentioned that you’re hereby IMPEACHED with immediate effect and your Vice is hereby nominated to act as the acting chairman pending the resolution of the union.
