Water Scarcity: Kogi Govt. Commences Free Water Supply To Lokoja Residents With Water Tankers As Temporary Measure

As part of efforts by the Kogi State Government to cushion the effect of water scarcity, occasioned by the ongoing maintenance work on the Greater Lokoja Water Works, Kogi State Government has commenced free supply of portable water to residents of Lokoja using water tankers on daily basis.

At Angwan Yashi, Lokoja, Ward ‘C’ on Tuesday, there was wild jubilation following the free supply of water through water tanker by the state government.

The concerned residents gave a pass mark to the Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya Danladi Faruq , for showing concern to their plight over the non-availability of water hitherto experienced.

Speaking with National Watch Tv, residents, representative of the Ward Head,  APC leaders as well as members of  Lokoja LGA Water Users Association made the commendations while appreciating Kogi State government for the water supply to their respective areas.

They said that the water supplied has clearly demonstrated the state government’s commitment to providing social amenities to the citizenry in every nooks and crannies of the state.

According to them for about two years ago, the affected communities are buying water from water vendors, but now they are enjoying free water supply daily from the state water board.

They, therefore, pledged to remain prayerful to the current administration for its success.
