… Presents portrait to Maigari

Members of Kogi State Union of Tailors (KUT) have paid a congratulatory visit to the new Maigari of Lokoja, HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Maikarfi, at his palace in Lokoja.
The KUT members were led by their State Chairman, Comrade Danjuma Sulaiman on Saturday.
In his opening remarks, the KUT Chairman congratulated Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Maikarfi on his appointment as the 4th Maigari of Lokoja.
He described the appointment of the monarch by the Kogi State Government as well deserved and expresses hope that the new Maigari will meet the high expectations of the revered office and justify the trust and confidence that his people have expressed in his character and ability through his selection and appointment.
Sulaiman also congratulated the state authorities and particularly the people of Lokoja Emirate for the peaceful and smooth transition after the painful exit of their 3rd Emir.
He prays that the reign of the new Maigari like that of his predecessor will enhance peace and development in Lokoja Emirate and Kogi State.
Responding, the Maigari thanked the KUT members for the visit.
He urged Lokojans at home and in the Diaspora, to continue to be united, as well as be their brother’s keepers’ for the area to move forward.
The monarch said that, “it is only when the people of the domain are united that we can forge ahead and foster the socio economic development of Lokoja kingdom, Kogi State and indeed Nigeria,
“We must all unite to bring speedy development to Lokoja and to as well attract good things to the area,” Maigari of Lokoja said.
The Traditional Ruler therefore stressed the need for wealthy Lokojans to always assist their less privileged brothers and sisters, to alleviate their suffering.
Highlight of the event was presentation of a beautiful portrait to Maigari by leadership of the union.
