An attempt by operatives of the Directorate of State Security (DSS), to arrest the dethroned Amana Of Muye in Niger State, Alhaji Abdulqadir Muhammad Maigari was on Saturday resisted by youths of the community.

The incident reportedly occurred in Muye on Saturday when the secret police stormed the village with intention to whisk the former village head away to Minna.

But following the stern resistance by the youths, the DSS operatives later left without effecting arrest on the village head.

It was gathered that the youths mobilized other people and barricaded entry and exit points in the area to forestall any attempt to whisk away their clan head.

The embattled traditional ruler according to National Watch Tv findings, later reported himself at the DSS headquarters in Minna where he was arraigned before a Magistrate Court where he was reminded in Minna Correctional Center.

Recall that the village head was dismissed by the government in 2021 after accusing him of gross insubordination by blowing of royal trumpets during official outings, a practice said to be exclusively preserved for first class traditional rulers.
