One of the victims rescued from a kidnapping incident in Kogi State, Joshua Daniel, has recounted how he sustained a serious injury while attempting to escape from his abductors.
Daniel said he fled into a nearby bush after spotting an opening, hoping to escape from his captors.
He, however, said one of the abductors chased after him and attacked him with a cutlass, leaving him with a deep injury to his hand.
According to him, he bled throughout the night after the attack before applying herbs to the wound, which eventually stopped the bleeding.
Daniel further revealed that the abductors spoke Igala, Fulani and Hausa, making it difficult for the victims to understand their conversations.
He said the different languages used by the abductors made it challenging for the victims to know what they were discussing or planning.
Daniel’s account has provided further details about the ordeal suffered by the victims before their eventual rescue by security operatives.
The victims were among those rescued along the Itobe–Anyigba Road in Kogi State during a security operation.
