The Oworo Youth Network 4 Karimi has inaugurated canvassers across all 49 polling units of Oworo Ward, reaffirming its support for Senator Sunday Steve Karimi and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration was held during a general meeting of the group in Felele, Lokoja, Kogi State, with community leaders, youth representatives and other stakeholders in attendance.
The Personal Assistant to Senator Karimi, Omooba Olusanjo Orebiyi, represented the Senator at the event as the guest of honour.
Speaking during the inauguration, the Convener of the group, Mr Aledare Benjamin, said the network was established to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and ensure massive support for President Tinubu and Senator Karimi in the forthcoming elections.
Benjamin said the groupâs membership cuts across political party lines, describing the initiative as a non-partisan coalition focused on grassroots development and effective representation.
He said the network was motivated by what he described as Senator Karimiâs impressive scorecard and track record of development across Kogi West.
âOur membership transcends political party lines, making this initiative a truly non-partisan coalition,â Benjamin stated.
âGiven the impressive scorecard and proven track record of Distinguished Senator Sunday Karimi, we deem it necessary to build a robust network to galvanise overwhelming support for both the Senator and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across Kogi West.â
Benjamin commended the Senator for his developmental initiatives across the senatorial district, saying the support being mobilised for him was based on the principle that âone good turn deserves another.â
He stressed the importance of continuity, saying sustained representation would enable the people of Kogi West to continue benefiting from democratic dividends.
The convener, however, appealed to Senator Karimi to continue to give Oworo land priority in the areas of development projects, employment opportunities and empowerment programmes.
Responding on behalf of the Senator, Orebiyi commended the Oworo Youth Network 4 Karimi for its steadfast support and commitment to the Senatorâs political movement.
He assured the executive and members of the network that the concerns, feedback and requests raised during the meeting had been noted and would be conveyed directly to Senator Karimi.
Orebiyi also reiterated the Senatorâs commitment to the growth and development of Kogi West, urging undergraduate students from the area to take advantage of the ongoing scholarship scheme.
He assured the group that Senator Karimi would continue to work closely with grassroots organisations in order to promote sustainable development across the senatorial district.
The inauguration of the 49 polling unit canvassers is expected to strengthen the groupâs grassroots mobilisation structure across Oworo Ward ahead of the 2027 elections.
