The remains of Malam Salami Salihu, younger brother of the Publisher/Proprietor of National Watch TV, Amuda Dan Sulaiman Fab, have been laid to rest in Lokoja amid tears and emotional scenes from sympathizers.
The Jana’iza prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaban, shortly after the 2pm prayer before the deceased was committed to mother earth according to Islamic rites.
Family members, friends, media practitioners, political associates, and residents of Lokoja thronged the burial venue to sympathize with Amuda Dan Sulaiman Fab and his family over the painful loss.
Before the burial, the body was moved from the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, to the residence of late Alhaji Sule Momoh in Karaworo, where sympathizers gathered in large numbers to pay their final respects.
The atmosphere at the burial ground was filled with grief as many mourners struggled to hold back tears while prayers were continuously offered for the repose of the deceased’s soul. Some close associates described the late Salami Salihu as a humble and peaceful man who related well with people in his community.
Several Islamic clerics who attended the funeral reminded mourners about the inevitability of death, urging everyone to live righteous lives and remain devoted to Allah.
They also prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family during the difficult period.
Speaking with sympathizers after the burial, some family friends expressed shock over the sudden death, noting that the deceased would be greatly missed by relatives, friends, and members of the community.
Residents of Karaworo and other parts of Lokoja were also seen trooping to the family residence to condole with the family of Amuda Dan Sulaiman Fab over the unfortunate loss.
Special prayers were later offered for the deceased, with clerics asking Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest, and admit him into Aljanatul Firdaus.
