The Garkuwan Matasa of Lokoja, Alhaji Abdulkareem Umar, has named his newly born baby Muhammad Bashir during a well-attended naming ceremony held at the Hausa Street Mosque in Kabawa, Lokoja.
The event attracted family members, friends, associates, political allies, community leaders, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate with the family and offer prayers for the newborn child.
Leading the prayer session was the Mukadami of Kabawa Street, Sheikh Muhammad Ndana, who prayed for the baby and asked Allah to grant him good health, wisdom, long life, and divine guidance throughout his life.
The Islamic scholar also urged parents and guardians to continue to instill moral discipline, religious teachings, and respect for elders in their children for a better society.
In his goodwill message, Alhaji Baba Nasidi, who represented the Maigari of Lokoja, offered prayers for the newborn baby and the family.
He prayed for Allahâs protection and blessings upon the child and urged the parents to nurture him in the fear of God and uphold the values of good character.
He described children as a blessing from Almighty Allah and congratulated Alhaji Abdulkareem Umar on the successful naming ceremony.
In their separate goodwill messages, dignitaries and notable personalities in attendance congratulated the celebrant, Alhaji Abdulkareem Umar, on the arrival of the baby boy.
They prayed for peace, progress, good health, and abundant blessings for the family.
Some of the guests commended the celebrant for maintaining strong ties with members of the community and for organizing a peaceful and successful ceremony that brought people together in unity and happiness.
The naming ceremony also featured recitation of verses from the Holy Qurâan, Islamic songs, and words of admonition from religious leaders who advised the gathering to always live in peace and support one another.
In his thank you message, Alhaji Abdulkareem Umar appreciated all guests, friends, family members, and well-wishers who came to grace the occasion.
He thanked them for their support, prayers, and show of love towards his family.
He further wished all attendees a safe journey back to their various destinations and prayed for Allahâs continued blessings, protection, and success upon them.
The ceremony ended with traditional dance performances and cultural displays as guests rejoiced with the family over the successful naming ceremony.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement, prayers, and celebration as attendees exchanged pleasantries and congratulated the family.
