Family Holds 8-Day Fidau Prayer for Hajiya Fatima Shaba Aliyu in Lokoja

Family members, friends, and well-wishers on Sunday gathered in Lokoja for the 8-day Fidau prayer of late Hajiya Fatima Shaba Aliyu, who passed on at the age of 92.

The ceremony, which held on Sunday at the family residence in Maigari Palace, was led by Sheikh Abubakar Adamu, the Chief Imam of Angwan Kura Jummat Mosque.

The Imam prayed for the repose of Hajiya Fatima Shaba Aliyu, asking Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus, while also urging the faithful to emulate her virtues of humility, kindness, and devotion to Allah.

Highlight of the occasion was the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, as Islamic clerics and attendees offered continuous prayers for the deceased.

In his remarks, the Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr Yahaya Danladi Farouk, prayed for the family, asking Allah to grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Maigari of Lokoja was represented at the event by the Waziri of Lokoja, Alhaji Babakurun Baba’Ango, who conveyed the sympathies of the traditional institution to the bereaved family.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Hon. Kasim Mabo and Alhaji Bambu Ali Tanko expressed heartfelt appreciation to all those who attended the prayer and supported the family during their period of mourning.

They described the late Hajiya Fatima as a compassionate and devoted matriarch whose legacy would continue to inspire generations.

Dignitaries at the event included top government officials, politicians, and Islamic clerics, who came to pay their respects and stand in solidarity with the bereaved family.

The Fidau prayer concluded with special supplications for peace, unity, and continued guidance for the family and the wider community.
