Traders in Lokoja have expressed deep appreciation to the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi, for awarding them the contract to supply food items for the Ramadan relief programme organised by Abdulrazak Isah Kutepa through the Kutepa Outreach.
The traders, who were selected to supply the food items for the annual Ramadan relief package, said the opportunity has not only boosted their businesses but also strengthened their commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts aimed at assisting vulnerable Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking on behalf of the traders, Hassan Inuwa Manager, the Acting Chairman of the Lokoja Traders Association, commended the Maigari for the confidence reposed in local traders, noting that the decision to engage them for the supply of the food items would help strengthen the local economy and encourage traders in the area.
He described the gesture as timely and thoughtful, especially as many traders continue to face economic challenges. According to him, the contract has provided an opportunity for traders to contribute meaningfully to the success of the Ramadan relief initiative.
Hassan Inuwa also expressed gratitude to Abdulrazak Isah Kutepa for sustaining the annual Ramadan relief programme, which he said has continued to bring relief to many families in Lokoja during the fasting period.
The traders also revealed that the Kutepa Outreach officially flagged off the distribution of the Ramadan food items on Sunday during a ceremony held at the International Market in Lokoja, where traders, community leaders, and beneficiaries gathered to witness the commencement of the humanitarian programme.
According to them, the event marked the beginning of the distribution of food items to Muslim faithful across Lokoja as part of efforts to ease the burden of feeding during the Ramadan fast.
They further noted that the involvement of local traders in the programme demonstrates the importance of community participation in humanitarian activities, adding that such initiatives help create a sense of unity and shared responsibility within the community.
Hassan Inuwa assured that the traders would ensure the supply of quality food items and timely delivery to guarantee a smooth and successful distribution exercise.
He also prayed for the continued success and prosperity of Abdulrazak Isah Kutepa and commended his philanthropic contributions, noting that his outreach programmes have positively impacted many lives across Lokoja and beyond.
The Kutepa Outreach Ramadan relief programme is an annual humanitarian initiative aimed at providing food support to Muslims in Lokoja during Ramadan while also promoting community development by involving local traders in the procurement and supply process.
