The Kogi State Council of Ulama’u has organized a special prayer session to mark the two-year anniversary of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration.
The prayer session was held at the Government House Mosque in Lokoja, where Islamic clerics and faithful gathered to seek divine guidance, wisdom, and continued success for the governor and his administration.
Speaking on behalf of the council, the organization secretary, Alhaji Idris Baba’Ango, said the special prayer was organized to thank Almighty Allah for His guidance over the state and to seek continued divine support for Governor Ododo as he steers the affairs of Kogi State.
He noted that prayers remain a vital tool in supporting leadership and fostering peace, unity, and development in society.
Alhaji Baba’Ango added that the council remains committed to promoting peaceful coexistence and moral values across the state, while encouraging citizens to continue supporting the government for the overall progress of Kogi State.
During the session, the clerics prayed for wisdom, good health, and strength for Governor Ododo to tackle the numerous challenges facing the state.
They also prayed for peace and stability in all communities across Kogi, urging citizens to remain united and law-abiding.
Several government officials and dignitaries attended the event, including members of the executive council, traditional rulers, and leaders of various religious groups.
Many of the attendees expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a demonstration of faith and goodwill that strengthens the relationship between the government and the religious community.
One of the senior clerics, Imam Suleiman Abubakar, called on the people of Kogi State to continue supporting the government through prayers and constructive engagement, emphasizing that collective moral guidance and civic responsibility are key to sustainable development.
The event concluded with a communal prayer and a call for citizens to pray regularly for the leaders and the state.
Observers noted that such gestures of solidarity between religious institutions and the government help reinforce peace, unity, and social cohesion in Kogi State.
