Clerics, Monarchs Gather as Dr. Naibi Marks 17th Maulud Nabiyi

Dr. Rajab Naibi, the Dan Maje of Lokoja and Wazirin Hasken Nupe, on Sunday hosted the 17th annual Maulud Nabiyi celebration in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, drawing Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, government officials and politicians from within and outside the state.

The Maulud Nabiyi, which marked the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), was held at his GRA residence along Government House, Lokoja.

The event attracted a large gathering of Muslim faithful who converged to offer prayers and reflect on the teachings and exemplary life of the Holy Prophet.

The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir, served as the chairman of the occasion.

The Special Guest of Honour, Sheikh Muhammad Abdul-Ahad Nyass from Kaduna, in his sermon, preached on the importance of Maulud Nabiyi, describing it as a platform for deepening love for the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and strengthening Islamic values among Muslims.

He admonished Muslims to embrace peace, tolerance and mutual understanding, stressing that Islam is a religion of peace.

He further urged Muslims who have the means to always host Maulud Nabiyi as a way of promoting Islamic teachings and unity.

Sheikh Nyass also prayed for the Kogi State Government, asking Allah to grant its leaders wisdom, guidance and success in the administration of the state.

Delivering the Maulud lecture, the guest speaker, Prof. Abubakar Yagwal Abubakar, Hon. Commissioner with the National Hajj Commission, called on Muslims to imbibe the virtues of honesty, compassion and justice as exemplified by the Holy Prophet, noting that these values are essential for national development.

In his remarks, the Maigari of Lokoja commended Dr. Naibi for sustaining the annual Maulud Nabiyi and prayed for Allah’s continued blessings, guidance and protection upon him.

Also speaking, the Ejeh of Dekina, His Royal Majesty, Usman Obaje, praised Dr. Rajab Naibi for his consistency in organizing the annual Maulud Nabiyi, describing the gathering as a unifying platform that promotes faith and harmony among Muslims.

The Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaban, led other Islamic clerics to the occasion, offering special prayers for peace, progress and stability in Kogi State and Nigeria.

The event was attended by top government officials, politicians and community leaders, who applauded Dr. Naibi for his commitment to religious harmony and community development.
