The Comptroller of Immigration, Rivers State Command, CIP Yabagi Ibrahim Abdulmajeed, on Thursday hosted the 15th Annual Maulud Nabiyi at his GRA residence in Lokoja, Kogi State.
The well-attended religious gathering attracted Islamic clerics, politicians, traditional institution representatives, community leaders, senior government officials, family members, friends and well-wishers, who converged to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and reflect on his enduring teachings of peace, humility, tolerance and service to humanity.
Delivering the Maulud lecture, the Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaban, emphasized the need for Muslims to live by the exemplary character of the Prophet, especially in matters of leadership, justice, honesty and compassion.
He called on public office holders to see leadership as a trust and to govern with fairness, fear of God and commitment to the welfare of the people.
Sheikh Aminu Shaban further urged Nigerians to promote unity and peaceful coexistence across religious and ethnic divides, noting that Islam encourages dialogue, patience and mutual respect.
He prayed for lasting peace, stability and economic prosperity in the country.
In his remarks, CIP Abdulmajeed expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the privilege of hosting the Maulud Nabiyi for the 15th consecutive year.
He thanked Islamic scholars and guests for their prayers and support, describing the annual event as a platform for spiritual rejuvenation and collective supplication for the nation.
The Comptroller also offered prayers for Nigeriaâs leaders, security agencies and institutions, seeking divine guidance and strength for them to discharge their duties effectively in the interest of national unity and development.
Special prayers were equally offered for Kogi State, Lokoja metropolis and the Nigeria Immigration Service, with supplications for peace, protection and continued progress.
Notable dignitaries in attendance included the representative of the Maigari of Lokoja and the Hakimi of Ward A, alongside other traditional and political leaders.
Speaking on behalf of the Maigari of Lokoja, the representative, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, commended CIP Yabagi Ibrahim Abdulmajeed for the consistency and commitment in organizing the annual Maulud Nabiyi and offered prayers for Allahâs continued guidance, protection and success in his service to the nation.
In his vote of thanks, Alhaji Abdulwahid Ibrahim Yabagi appreciated all those who came to grace the occasion, particularly the Islamic clerics, political leaders, traditional representatives and community stakeholders, praying that Almighty Allah rewards them abundantly and grants them safe journeys.
The event featured Qurâanic recitations, chants of praise on the Holy Prophet (SAW), goodwill messages and moments of fellowship among guests, marking yet another successful edition of the annual Maulud Nabiyi.
