The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), has announced that the first Inaugural National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting under his leadership will hold tomorrow, Tuesday, November 18, at the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
Dr. Turaki made the declaration on Monday while addressing journalists shortly after submitting a petition to the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Garki, Abuja, against the expelled National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and what he described as other saboteurs attempting to destabilize the party.
He vowed that no internal or external forces would prevent the leadership of the party from carrying out its constitutional responsibilities.
“Nothing will stop us from holding our inaugural NEC meeting tomorrow at Wadata Plaza. We are fully prepared, and we are moving forward in the interest of democracy and party unity,” Turaki stated confidently.
The development comes amid ongoing internal crises and leadership tussles within the PDP, with key stakeholders insisting on restoring order and protecting the party’s democratic structures.
Members of the NEC, the Board of Trustees (BoT), governors, legislators, and other senior officials are expected to attend the highly anticipated meeting.
