The Like Minds Alliance Pressure Group, Yagba Federal Constituency chapter, has called on the government at all levels and security agencies to intensify efforts to curb the rising insecurity in Yagba land.
In a statement signed by its founder, HE Chief Richard Asaje, the group condemned the growing wave of insecurity sweeping through Yagba land and urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo to collaborate and put an end to the killings and abductions of innocent citizens within Yagba and its environs.
Speaking further, Asaje urged the government and relevant security agencies to act decisively against the escalating threats posed by banditry and kidnappings. According to him, if the situation is not urgently contained, it could pose a significant threat to the stability of the entire axis.
He noted that the prevailing insecurity has displaced several communities, forced farmers to abandon their farmlands, and negatively impacted the local economy. He emphasized the urgency for governments at all levels to step up their interventions as communities continue to suffer repeated attacks from armed bandits.
Amid the security challenges, the group reaffirmed its commitment to the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a leader capable of steering the nation’s economy in the right direction. Asaje expressed confidence in the President’s dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians.
“President Tinubu will leave no stone unturned in driving developmental progress. He deserves a second term in office. The Renewed Hope Agenda must continue without interruption,” he stated.
Asaje also acknowledged the recent deployment of security personnel to affected areas by the Kogi State Government while urging for intensified efforts to restore peace in Yagba land.
Additionally, he called on residents of Yagba Federal Constituency to support Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo’s second-term bid, citing his impressive record of achievements and the execution of impactful projects across various sectors.
He highlighted the Governor’s recent declaration of free education in the state as a testament to his commitment to human capital development.
“Governor Ododo’s re-election will inspire a new generation of leadership and usher in more developmental milestones for the state,” Asaje said.
While appreciating the commitment of the group’s members to the continuity of good governance, Asaje urged residents to remain steadfast in their support for Hon. Leke Abejide’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections. He dismissed circulating rumors of Abejide’s expulsion from the ADC as baseless and orchestrated by political detractors.
“We are proud of Hon. Leke Abejide as a dynamic and innovative leader whose administration has delivered record-breaking achievements in Yagba land—particularly in education, health, infrastructure, security, and economic expansion,” he stated.
Asaje concluded by stressing that Abejide’s re-election is sacrosanct due to his exceptional developmental strides and his commitment to giving the people a strong voice. He urged all residents of Yagba Federal Constituency to support him wholeheartedly come 2027.
Chief Asaje expressed that addressing the insecurity in Yagba Federal Constituency requires a unified and sustained approach. All hands must be on desk to remove these threat to our people and our future.
