Bashir Gegu Names Newborn Baby Amidst Dignitaries in Gegu

It was a day of joy and celebration at the country home of Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu, Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as he named his newborn baby in Gegu, Kogi Local Government Area, today.

The naming ceremony, which was conducted by the Chief Imam of Gegu, Ustaz Abdulkarim Umar, saw the child named Abubakar khalifa Afan Bashir Gegu
in line with Islamic tradition.

The event attracted dignitaries from across Kogi State and beyond, including top government officials, APC leaders, traditional rulers, community leaders, and political associates who gathered to rejoice with the commissioner and his family.

In his remarks, Hon. Bashir Gegu expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the gift of life and for blessing his family with a new child.

He also extended his heartfelt appreciation to the dignitaries and well-wishers who honored his invitation, describing their presence as a great encouragement to him and his household.

“I sincerely thank all my colleagues in government, party leaders, traditional rulers, clerics, friends, and well-wishers who took out time to come and share this moment of joy with my family. Your presence means a lot to us, and we pray Allah rewards you abundantly,” he said.

Prayers were offered for little
Abubakar khalifa Afan Bashir Gegu,
asking Allah to grant him good health, wisdom, and a purposeful life that will bring honor to his family and community.

Guests at the occasion described Hon. Bashir Gegu as a grassroots mobilizer and community-oriented leader, noting that the massive turnout at the naming ceremony was a reflection of the goodwill he enjoys across Kogi State.

The ceremony ended with a reception where guests were treated to assorted dishes and refreshments, amidst an atmosphere of joy, laughter, and camaraderie.
